Interested in how you partitioned the 64MB drive. I get through most of the install but everytime I get to GRUB it fails. The defaults didn't seem to work for me. Neither did the expert options.

I'm also getting another thin client from my Boss that might have a bigger internal drive, he wasn't sure of the model. Hoping it's one of the 512MB ones.

Thanks,
Jw

I got this to work - thanks! - but when I reboot my virtual machine, my shared folder is gone from mnt/hgfs and I have to reinstall the VMware Tools. Anything I can do to not have to reinstall them every time I reboot?

debian seems to be smaller footprint in flash memory, it is also more up to date with suport for the ARM processor.

Ubuntu has stopped supporting the ARMv5 Commands in later versions of ubuntu so 9.04 will be the last version for the sheevaplug.

I am running Debian Squeeze (6) on the sheevaplug, and there are discussions about getting Debian 7 on the plug!

[...] It took me long enough, but I finally got around to getting this site up and running. I used to spend some time blogging for my old site, Crazy Hawt. The focus of Crazy Hawt was... well... there was no focus. It was really just a place for my to test out the whole blogging thing. Over time, I realized that I enjoyed writing primarily about technology and travel. And when it came to technology, I wasn't interested in re-posting re-hashed news, a la Engadget.
Wouldn't you think that a company like VMWare would have a Yum Repo for these tools?

I don't have access to the "VMware application" that you mention in step 11. I have both root access to the VM instance and access to vSpere.

Is there another way to get this installed, preferably an rpm via a yum repo?
