Nope – You couldn’t get an iPhone in the weeks leading up to the iPhone 3G release. They were sold out everywhere and once the stock was gone, they never made any more…

Maybe, but its a smart move from apple by taking it down to $99..Did they do the same with iPhone 1st gen when iPhone 3g came out??

I think you may be right there, it didn’t occur to me that that would be the case, but it sounds plausible. Still, we could be wrong.
